Haute Couture Super Bowl Football Helmets

BY TARA BURKE

I don’t know about you, but I’m beyond excited for the Super Bowl! Even though my personal team didn’t make it to the big game this year, having a big Super Bowl Sunday is a tradition for my family! Plus, it isn’t so bad since I have Eli’s big brother to root for. Regardless of teams, I’m looking forward to spending time with family, watching my favorite sport and binging on pizza and wings. It is also pretty cool to have the game at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey. They are shutting down several blocks along Broadway in the city just to have a huge Super Bowl block party and I am so tempted to go! With all the buzz going on, CFDA members wanted to get in on the fun and created haute couture football helmets in honor of Super Bowl XLVIII. This project was done in conjunction with the NFL and Bloomingdale’s; the latter is auctioning the helmets to support the NFL Foundation. If you haven’t seen them yet, check some of them out below! The whole collection can be viewed here!

I love how the football helmets still carry the aesthetic of the fashion designer. It also is a perfect combo of my two loves, fashion and sports! What could be any better?!
