After we got our fix of the Nashville skyline and remembered the country music greats at the Walk of Fame Park, we went straight to Broadway for some cowboy boot shopping! There are a ton of stores that have aisles and aisles of boots so if you’re looking for some, why not get them in Music City!? They were all so fun and intricate, but they had some great classic pairs too. The shops we went to definitely had the most unique cowboy boots I’ve seen – so they were the perfect place to find those statement boots. Tara found a pair that looked so good on her, but they were all super expensive to no surprise, so we mostly window shopped.
After, we headed to what quickly became my favorite place… The GooGoo Cluster store! GooGoo Clusters are a candy bar that originated in Nashville, so we had to try them! You can’t buy them in that many stores in NY, so they were the perfect souvenirs to bring home. They have three flavors, Original – which has marshmallow nougat, caramel, and roasted peanuts, Supreme – which is the same thing just with pecans instead of peanuts, and finally the Peanut Butter – which is just peanut butter and peanuts!
Not only did we love them because we became low-key obsessed with the name, but they were all so delicious! Our favorite had to be the Supreme because pecans are just so good. Along with all the chocolate, they have a cafe in the back with GooGoo creations like sundaes and milkshakes, and a shop with cool branded apparel and gifts. Tara got a GooGoo Cluster mug and I got a patch and spent quite a bit of time successfully completing this game/puzzle. We also liked how they had a whole wall devoted to telling the story and history of the candy!
For our next stop of the day, we had to get some Nashville BBQ! We headed to Jack’s and tried their brisket with a few different sauces. We liked their classic smoky BBQ the best and loved their outdoor seating. Make sure you head to the top floor if you want to sit outside and overhear live music from Tootsie’s next door. Eating BBQ while listening to Miranda Lambert covers was the perfect lunch (but don’t worry Texas BBQ, we’re still partial to you!)
To complete our day of Nashville staples, we spent the night dancing to live music, got shown around by a local, and she even introduced us to the singer performing that night! So if you’re looking for what to do in Nashville, don’t miss the classic combo of live music, BBQ, cowboy boot shopping, and our new favorite – GooGoo Clusters!
