Happy Fourth of July all! We love everything that comes with this holiday — celebrating America and our independence, eating some classic foods, and wearing our red, white, and blue! We both put together outfits that were a little different than the norm and love how they came out. First off, I am obsessed with Tara’s look because… just look at that t-shirt! She thought it would be super fitting to wear a cheeseburger covered tee since it’s a staple July 4th food after all! Even better, these cheeseburgers have faces and are just too adorable and funny! This is definitely a statement tee.
Along with this epic tee (from Delia*s back in the day), she topped it with a denim slip dress and really cool Swedish clogs from MIA Shoes. (I got them for her as a birthday present this year! Success!!) She also threw on a few matching Pura Vida bracelets and wore a red lip to give it that red, white, and blue look!
I thrifted the entirety of my outfit (minus the shoes) which I always find exciting! I got this kimono at Salvation Army a few months ago and saved it for the 4th because it’s got those USA colors, but at the same time, is also kind of subtle. I love the detailing/embroidery and cut of this — it’s a little cropped and really flowy which are always good summer styles. Lately I’ve been a big fan of kimonos because they are so easy to throw on, but they make an outfit look fun and boho. The one I’m wearing was originally from Forever21 and still had the tags on it!
I just threw a black tank under the kimono and then tucked that into my favorite cutoffs — also from Salvation Army, but originally Calvin Klein. Denim shorts always scream summer and have that Americana look! For the last few touches I added my favorite pair of sandals, these tall gladiators from MIA Shoes and this crystal necklace I can’t stop wearing. I got it for $1 at Rue21 and was amazed at how cute it could be for that price!! I really love how different both Tara and I’s outfits are, but how these two types of looks can both work for the 4th! Hope you guys all have a happy Independence Day!
