A Getaway to the Berkshires

The Berkshires are one of Tara and I’s favorite weekend getaway destinations because they are the perfect place to unwind, have some quiet, and spend time outdoors. We mainly focused on the R&R this trip — getting coffee, going swimming, and walking around the cute downtown areas (but if you want to see some of the activities we’ve done in the past check out: End of Summer Berkshires WeekendCanoeing and Cliff Jumping in the Berkshires, & XC Skiing the Berkshires). One of our favorite stops was Lenox Coffee for a Chai Tea Latte and a Cappuccino. The drinks were an A+ and after both trying the cappuccino, we kept raving about it. And believe me, we’ve had some good NYC ones!

We also had to get some bakery goodies and got a delicious chocolate chip cookie (so. many. chocolate. chips.) and a cinnamon raisin scone. What we loved about Lenox Coffee was their combo of indoor and outdoor seating and how it’s tucked into a corner off of Main Street, making it the perfect spot to catch up with friends or sip a coffee and read. We’d definitely be here all the time if we lived in the area. After caffeinating, we walked around the downtown area of Lenox and were shocked that we had never even done that before! Being big fans of Tanglewood, we’ve been to Lenox several times but never walked around the shops!

Since it was Tara’s birthday weekend, we grabbed a hotel and spent the night opening presents and celebrating (…by relaxing – so our style!) The next morning, we hung out on our adorable patio complete with Adirondack chairs, a brick exterior, the latest copy of Berkshire magazine, and coffee of course! We also grabbed a waffle at the hotel’s breakfast bar, because who can resist make your own belgian waffles!?

To complete the R&R theme, we capped our trip with a day at their gorgeous pool. We loved the shiplap walls, glass vaulted ceiling, the lounge chairs, and of course the plants everywhere! It was a great kick off to what is sure to be more summer days in the Berkshires, and as always, was the perfect quick getaway destination.
