Winter Florals

BY TARA BURKE

Although it is true that some of your clothes have to be tucked away for winter, not all of your floral prints do! It’s really simple to keep them going all year long if you just switch up the styling. Cailin winterized her sunflower hoodie by simply pairing it with a matching beanie, black jeans and some gray checkered Vans. Oh, and you can’t forget her fly Champion fanny pack!

Skater Dress

TARA BURKE

I love a fun skater dress. The best part about them is they flatter just about every body type and they’re super comfortable. This dress also has some cool details like ruching on the sleeves, which give it a vintage vibe that I’m all about. I wore this one on my birthday, back in June (apologies, Cai and I are playing some serious catch up on here haha), because I like to dress up a bit every year on my bday.

I’m like a kid in the summer…excuse all the bug bites and bruises on my legs haha

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken & Jeni’s Ice Cream

BY TARA BURKE

No trip to Nashville would be complete without some hot chicken, so we made sure we stopped at Hattie B’s for the Nashville staple. We both got the tenders plate which comes with three jumbo tenders, bread, pickles and two sides. We both got the macaroni and cheese, and we split the our others sides of baked beans and potato salad.

Long Vests & Pretty Details

BY TARA BURKE

I have been really into long vests lately, so when I found this really cool denim Tommy Hilfiger one at the thrift store – I scored big time! I tap out at 5’1″ so these long vests add an illusion of height and give a simple outfit a sophisticated twist. I wanted the vest to shine in this outfit so I wore all black everythang and paired it with a pair of mules (I think I got from Target) that I’ve had for forever.

Stops in West End Nashville & The Grand Ole Opry

BY TARA BURKE

We may have stumbled upon the craft fair at Centennial Park, but we stopped by to see the full-scale replica of the Parthenon. Some refer to it as the “Athens of the South” and we have to say it was pretty impressive. We spent some time marveling at all the details and how small we felt among the soaring columns.

Spring Ready Button Down

BY TARA BURKE

Loose button downs are my favorite thing to wear for a casual weekend look. This one I actually took from my Mom’s closet. I’ve talked about my Mom’s wardrobe before and all the 90’s treasures it holds. This top was definitely one of those treasures. I love the vibrant magenta color it has and the embroidered flower detailing makes it even more perfect to wear during the first days of spring.

Taking in the Nashville Skyline

BY TARA BURKE

On most of our trips Cailin and I try to get a good look at the skyline of whatever city we’re in! We heard that the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge which connects East Nashville to Downtown, gave excellent views of the cityscape, so we hopped in an Uber and headed for the downtown entrance to the bridge. The view from the bridge is an awesome vantage point to take in your surroundings and walk across the Cumberland River. You can look down at the bustling downtown streets and rooftops, the river and Nissan Stadium!

Spektor Coffee Roasters

BY TARA BURKE

We’ve got another coffee oasis spot for you guys! As you all know by now, finding cool coffee shops wherever we go is kinda our thing. There are too many amazing coffee places in the city that no matter how hard we try we will probably not make it to all of them…which is what makes the city so great in a way, but in Upstate NY you have to sometimes search for them. Cailin came across Spektor Coffee in Glens Falls, NY on Instagram so on a nice day we drove up for an afternoon caffeine kick!

Day Trip to Hudson

BY TARA BURKE

We’re always checking out cool coffee shops, so when we found Moto Coffee Machine we had to make a little day trip to Hudson, NY. Moto Coffee Machine is a coffee shop that also doubles as a motorcycle dealership. In turn, the cafe is decked out in motorcycle helmets and bikes! Cai and I both got a cappuccino, which was delicious. The space has a few tables out front, maybe three round tables with a pair of chairs, bar stool seating and a communal table. There were several people on their laptops and it seemed like a chill spot to get some work done!
