Loose button downs are my favorite thing to wear for a casual weekend look. This one I actually took from my Mom’s closet. I’ve talked about my Mom’s wardrobe before and all the 90’s treasures it holds. This top was definitely one of those treasures. I love the vibrant magenta color it has and the embroidered flower detailing makes it even more perfect to wear during the first days of spring.
We’re all about the laid back sporty look for running around doing errands. We also just like to get away with essentially wearing baggy tees and sweatpants in public. My look consists of an extra baggy athletic tee, a vintage jean jacket, leggings, wedge sneaks and a white baseball cap. I got the tee out thrifting and the jacket is from my lovely sis’s closet. If you’re looking to be a little more intentional with your shopping habits we’d definitely recommend thrift, consignment and vintage shops. We always come across the best finds for a fraction of the cost, you’re reducing waste and most use their profits to benefit amazing causes.
This post features two items I’ve had my eyes on for awhile, this Walk in Love long sleeve tee and my Jack Rogers booties. I just loved the saying on this tee because I think it is so important to go after your crazy dreams and believe you are walking and living in them every day. It also reminds me to stay grateful for the love I have around me and the things we’re so blessed to call basics like shelter, food, clothes and safety. If we’re given the opportunity and are able to alleviate other’s burdens in this manner, I’d say we’re living the dream!

: Tell us a little about yourself.
: My name is Olivia Broom and I live in a little beach town on the East Coast of Florida. I work full time as a graphics designer, and my entire life revolves around being creative. I love to play guitar, paint, travel in my tiny camper and come up with new designs for my AubbieRoe ankle cuffs and leather bracelets.
: You make beautiful ankle cuffs and bracelets through your business Aubbie Roe. How did you get started?
: I am a big fan of Emonk Ibiza’s boots and sandals. I saw them on Instagram, and instantly wanted a pair, but they were way out of my price range. I thought I could probably make something similar myself, so I went out and bought a sewing machine and made a couple pair of what has become the AubbieRoe ankle cuffs. I really enjoyed making them, and everyone loved them, so I started selling them at local markets, craft fairs and online through Etsy, Facebook and Instagram.
While in the 12South area of Nashville, (travel posts coming soon!) I found this great chunky sweater for $10! The boutique I got it from, Vinnie Louise, had literally just put up the sale sign as we were walking by, so we got first dibs on all their unique merchandise. This sweater was actually from their girl’s line. If you’re petite you can sometimes get away with purchasing from the larger girl’s sizes, so the sleeves were a little short, but I like quarter length sleeves anyway!
There is nothing better than a cozy slouchy sweater in the fall! If you’re searching for that perfectly loose fall shirt, you don’t have to look so far. I usually just find a style of shirt I like and then go up two or three sizes! I did just that with this shirt. I liked the style, but the only size left was a few sizes up than what I typically wear. I bought it anyways and now it’s one of my go-to shirts for a lazy weekend or when you’re going out to eat, haha!
This week we are featuring fashion illustrator, Joanna Baker! Joanna is a testament to taking the leap from the corporate world and becoming your own boss. Joanna took that initial risk and started her very own illustration business. Since then she has garnered recognition from some of the fashion industry’s top names and we can definitely see why. We love her illustration style in all its pretty details and chic accents! Read on to learn more about Joanna’s story.
: Tell us about yourself.
: Hi, I’m Joanna! I currently live in Manhattan with my husband and our cat, Junebug. Originally from Maryland, we’ve lived in NYC for a little over eight years now. (Junebug is born and bred a New York City girl, though)
Thank goodness for dresses and skirts in the summer! We have been going through quite the heat wave in NYC and my swing dress has come to the rescue. It’s so easy breezy and takes no effort to throw on in the morning and style. You can really change up this look depending on what accessories you pair with it, but this time I went for a casual summer vibe with a long Half United Hunger Necklace, Pura Vida Bracelets and a Freely Clothing Bracelet.
The first day of summer is around the corner and summer fashion is already in full swing! With so many fun summer trends to wear, Cailin and I don’t really stick with a certain style and instead try them all, haha! We also go to a lot of outdoor concerts and tend to dress in accordance with the vibe of the band, so we can be hipster one day, countryfied another day and edgy the next. It’s a lot of fun to switch it up from time to time and on this particular day I went with a girly floral shift dress and Cailin chose to be edgy and bold in her hand painted shirt by @strollingcanvases!
Cailin and I can be found on any given day out and about photographing Freely Clothing tees! However, it’s been more of a struggle to get those great outdoor shots in the winter. The first spring days are just starting to happen in the city and we were excited to take advantage of it and get some shots in, so we thought we’d share a few! For any new readers, Freely Clothing is a pay it forward brand that aims to help you help others. A portion of every purchase from Freely Clothing goes toward funding someone’s give back idea! As always, we encourage all of our readers to think about how they could help someone or their community and enter their idea in Freely Clothing’s Giving Chain Contest. You could end up funding your idea up to $1,000!
