I know, I know, apple picking season is over and this post is extremely late to the game. For some reason I keep forgetting about these photos until I open my editor and get smacked in the face with them again. Soooo, playing catch up here! Well you guys know that Cailin and I go apple picking every year because we’re from Upstate New York and it’s what we do, haha. If you’ve been following us for awhile you know we usually go downstate. Well this year we kept it local and went to Bowman’s Orchard in Rexford, NY.
Nothing says comfortable like a chenille sweater! I have a few in my closet from the actual 90s, but this one I got thrifting. Chenille has made a huge comeback this year and is being sold by practically every brand, but these sweaters have also been sitting in thrift stores everywhere waiting for the style to come back, so I’d definitely recommend stopping by your local spot before shopping at a big name retailer.
Bomber jackets are just the best for an effortlessly cool look. I got this flower embroidered one from Target and what makes it even better is that it’s sweater material! It is literally the comfiest thing and is so soft.
Don’t put away your floral clothes yet! You can style them in so many ways to make them work for fall like wearing a fun pair of tights, pairing them with boots or adding a chunky sweater and hat. I also like wearing florals that are in muted colors during the cooler months and that was exactly what I did for this look.
Fall fashion is here y’all and we’re loving it as usual. It’s time to bring out the beanies and boots, but there are always a few hot days that sneak into October, and this particular day was one of them. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to wear this orange vintage skirt that I borrowed from Cailin’s closet.
Who doesn’t love a skirt that you can twirl around in?! This skirt is so fun and representative of its designer, Betsey Johnson. Betsey Johnson was one of my favorite designers when I was younger because everything she makes is so crazy fun and unique, and I was in my wear anything but the ordinary stage – haha! I still love how bold her pieces are, so when I found this gem while thrifting I definitely scored. To finish the look I paired it with a simple black wrap top and some strappy heels.
I’ve been loving all these 90s trends, especially since I saved a lot of my favorite 90s pieces from my childhood and I have my Mother’s closet to raid! This lilac silk tank top was a piece from my Mom’s wardrobe and it paired perfectly with a simple white tee underneath. This tank also has the most amazing straps in the back which gives it a fun and unique touch.
We’ve been loving the “jungalow” style of decorating lately, so when we saw this plant wall at Stacks Espresso Bar, we knew we had to share it with our fellow plant lovers. Not much is better than sipping a latte under a dreamy wall of hanging plants.
I have been really into long vests lately, so when I found this really cool denim Tommy Hilfiger one at the thrift store – I scored big time! I tap out at 5’1″ so these long vests add an illusion of height and give a simple outfit a sophisticated twist. I wanted the vest to shine in this outfit so I wore all black everythang and paired it with a pair of mules (I think I got from Target) that I’ve had for forever.
Loose button downs are my favorite thing to wear for a casual weekend look. This one I actually took from my Mom’s closet. I’ve talked about my Mom’s wardrobe before and all the 90’s treasures it holds. This top was definitely one of those treasures. I love the vibrant magenta color it has and the embroidered flower detailing makes it even more perfect to wear during the first days of spring.
